Disarmco Limited was registered
in the United Kingdom in 1996. The Company provides products
and solutions for the destruction of Explosive Remnants of
War (ERW) and unwanted munitions.
It was established, like so many small entrepreneurial businesses,
after a period of 3 or 4 years supplying products to a single
customer with whom the founders had identified a solution
to that customers’ need. The need was for a product
to dispose of munitions being fired onto the mud flats in
Essex, England, at MoD test ranges; the product was a Low
Temperature Thermite (LTT) that would deflagrate these redundant
munitions.
Disarmco has two product lines: Stockpile
Disposal and Pyrotechnics
Presently under development, Disarmco is developing the
world’s first transportable Munitions Stockpile Disposal
Facility (MSDF), SIROCCO. Not only will the Disarmco solution
take the technology to the stockpile but it will dispose of
munitions more economically than current static solutions.
In brief, the advantages are:
 |
Mobile facility, removes danger and cost
of transporting aged and unstable munitions |
 |
Simple and clean design, leading to very economical
disposal |
 |
Modular design mitigating risk to entire facility from
accidental detonation |
 |
Simple, uncomplicated and largely automated disposal
process, allowing operation by local staff |
 |
Recovery of both materials and energy from disposed
munitions |
Our Pyrotechnics are fully certified by the UK authorities
to UN explosive standards for export, and include:
 |
A range of devices designed to safely burn
out (or deflagrate) munitions |
 |
Low temperature and high temperature pyrotechnic devices
to incinerate the explosive filling in mines and unexploded
ordnance (UXO) |
 |
The latest (2006) and revolutionary new pyrotechnic
torch, DRAGON with a custom made transportable factory
have been developed to enable the safe, local production
of this Mine Action product close to minefields –
this is a first. |
The next five years will be the most significant period
in the Company’s history as it looks to commercialise
the world’s first Mobile Production Facility
(MPF) producing pyrotechnic torches, and the world’s
first (Patented) Munitions Stockpile Disposal Facility
(MSDF).
